Mr. David Koren, General Director

David joins the Re'ut-Sadaka team with a great deal of experience at directing Jewish-Arab cooperative activities. From 1991 to 1997 David served as Director of Public Relations, Director of the International Desk and then Executive Director of Givat Haviva Institute, a multi-faceted educational facility with a Jewish Arab Center for Peace. From 1988-91 he was the representative of the Kibbutz Movement and the Jewish Agency in New York and from 1985-87 he was the General Secretary of Kibbutz HaOgen. In that capacity he was responsible for the daily operations and management of the kibbutz. He has a certificate in Management Training and Computer Science from the Management Training Center in Tel Aviv and a BA in Social Work from the University of Haifa.

Mr. Yonatan Peled, Treasurer

Yonatan has been active in Re'ut-Sadaka since 1985, three years after its inception. From 1985-90 he served as Re'ut's General Secretary and since 1990 he has served as the organization's treasurer. From 1960-64 he served as a counselor in Hashomer Hatzair, the Youth Group of the Kibbutz Movement, and from 1964-66 he was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair leadership. He spent many years teaching high school and from 1983-85 he was the General Secretary of his kibbutz (collective farm).

Mr. Mohammad Abid Alhaleem, Educational Director

Mohammad worked for 4 years in the Arab Youth Movement at Givat Haviva as a counselor and then as the Seminar Coordinator for leadership training. During that time he also worked as the manager of the Youth Center of Kfar Manda and was a counselor at the Ministry of Education camp for Arab Youth Leadership. He is currently studying Informal Education at Beit Berl and previously he studied Directing of Adult Education at the Martin Buber Center at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He also studied art and culture management for local government at the Tzippori Center in Jerusalem. He studied at Givat Haviva in the Arab Youth Leadership program for one year and worked with the Palestinian Authority Youth Ministry as a guide and program coordinator for youth leadership training. His hobbies include singing, soccer, and playing with children. He lives with his parents and 2 of his 14 brothers and sisters in Kfar Manda.

Ms. Mirvat Omri, Volunteer Coordinator

Mirvat is currently working on her MA in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Tel Aviv. She has completed a course in facilitator training at Givat Haviva and currently works with Givat Haviva in that capacity. For the past two years she has facilitated at Neve Shalom and she currently works with Nisan Young Women's Leadership program for Jewish and Arab high school students. Since 1996 Mirvat has both led a group and facilitated workshops for Re'ut-Sadaka. In 1997 she joined Re'ut-Sadaka staff as volunteer coordinator, responsible for the One Year of Life for Coexistence project.

Mr. Amit Perlson, Assistant to the Director

Amit began his involvement in Re'ut-Sadaka in 1991 as a member of the Tel Aviv-Jafo Friendship Group and then was a member of One Year of Life for Coexistence in 1993-4. He just finished his army service and is returning to Re'ut-Sadaka to organize seminars and workshops and coordinate for the Friendship Groups.

Ms. Rhonda Malina, International Coordinator

Rhonda worked with Miriam last year as a volunteer and will now continue this work as a staff member. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and French and a Masters Degree in Social Work. She also studied leadership training in Jerusalem and Middle Eastern Studies as a graduate student at Tel Aviv University. Rhonda has worked in international development, literacy and non-formal education. She has taught English as a Second Language and French. Rhonda most recently worked in an early intervention program for young children at risk for developmental delays and their families. She moved to Israel last October, and got married this summer.

Mr. Bastian Kluth, Volunteer

Bastian came to Re'ut-Sadaka for a year and a half from Duesseldorf, Germany. "Action for Reconciliation and Peace" has sponsered him to work at Re'ut-Sadaka and in a program for handicapped children in Haifa. Bastian learned organization computer programing and programed for an insurance company before coming to Israel. He is currently writing a home-page for Re'ut-Sadaka, keeping up correspondance with German organizations and helping with seminars.
